The short version
You can now ask rcsd.info questions by phone. Save these two numbers:
- English: (650) 482-8912
- Español: (650) 399-7203
Each one works three ways: call it and talk to a voice assistant, text it like any SMS conversation, or message it on WhatsApp. Ask about school calendars, start and dismissal times, lunch menus, school details, board meetings and what the board decided, district policies — anything this site covers. It answers in a few seconds, any hour of the day.
What it's good at
The assistant answers from the same public data that powers this website: district calendars, bell schedules, enrollment and demographic figures, lunch menus, board agendas, meeting transcripts and summaries, and the district's published policies. Ask "when is the first day of school?", "what time is pickup at Roy Cloud on Thursdays?", "what's for lunch at Kennedy tomorrow?", or "when is the next board meeting?" and you'll get a short, sourced answer.
If you text the English line in Spanish it will answer in Spanish (and point you to the Spanish line), and vice versa.
What to know before you trust it
Every conversation starts with a reminder that you're talking to an AI run by rcsd.info, not the school district — that's not fine print, it's the honest frame. The assistant is instructed to only state facts it can find in public records, to say so when it doesn't know, and to point you to your school office or rcsdk8.net for anything it can't verify. It still can make mistakes. For anything high-stakes — enrollment, deadlines, anything about your specific child — confirm with your school or the district office at (650) 482-2200.
We test it hard: before launch it answered a battery of more than a hundred realistic questions, each answer audited against the underlying public records, and we fixed what it got wrong. That testing continues as the data changes.
Privacy, plainly
The line only replies when you contact it first — no marketing, no broadcasts. Short-lived conversation logs are kept so follow-up questions work and to prevent abuse. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing. Text STOP any time to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Full details: privacy policy and terms.
The nerd corner
For the technically curious: the numbers live on Twilio. Voice runs on Synthflow's voice agents. Texting and WhatsApp are answered by a small open-source Cloudflare Worker that makes a single call to Claude, which pulls live district data through this site's public MCP server — the same one any AI assistant can use. The test suite, prompts, and evaluation harness are all in the repo.
Tell us what it gets wrong
This is week one. If the line gives you a wrong answer, a weird answer, or no answer, that's a bug we want — email [email protected] or just tell the assistant it's wrong (it will re-check the record rather than argue). The goal is simple: every family should be able to get a straight answer about their schools, in their language, from the device already in their pocket.
