Rationale: The Education Code section 54956.5 permits an emergency meeting to occur in certain circumstances, including those which severely impair public health, safety, or both, as determined by a majority of members of the Board. Given the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic severely impacting public health and safety, and related County Public Health Orders, staff recommend the School Board determine this meeting is held pursuant to Education Code section 54956.5 to address the COVID-19 pandemic that severely impacts health and safety.
